Fight against other competitive drivers in order to reach the finish line before anyone else to win, fair and simple. Be it a circuit event, a point-to-point sprint or an unordered series of checkpoints. If teams are enabled, you must cooperate with your fellow drivers to gain positions and build up enough points to earn the victory.
At first, this may seem like a traditional race until you reach the second lap or pass through a specific checkpoint and bam, everyone’s suddenly in a new vehicle – from either the same class or a totally random selection. You'll never be able to predict which one you get next. Just be ready for whatever the race throws at you and your opponents.
In this race against time, everybody’s vehicle has been fitted with explosives set to detonate. The only way to delay the detonation is by driving through checkpoints, which reward you with extra time. But as the race progresses, the time extension given per checkpoint is reduced – impeding your chance of survival. Be the last one standing and you'll win.
In a GTA Race, don’t expect to reach the finish line in one piece. Weapons are enabled and collected as you drive through checkpoints. Shoot up the competition but take note of cops and other drivers as they’ll all be gunning to take you down. If your ride gets destroyed, you’ll respawn in another, but be warned as they get progressively worse with each death.
Set the fastest time on a designated racecourse within a set number of laps. Your race position is irrelevant; this one is all about the quickest driver. Adapt to the layout of the circuit and shave off as many seconds as possible. With passive mode enabled and traffic disabled, there’s no distractions that can get in your way.
Watch out, the LSPD have setup multiple speed cameras across Los Santos and Blaine County, challenging street racers to blitz through each of them as fast as possible until they reach the finish line. Once completed, the combined speed set across each Speed Trap determines the results.
In this event, it’s crucial that you stay in front of everyone else. Those who fall behind will be prompted to overtake the drivers ahead of them, otherwise they’ll be eliminated from the race once the next lap begins. The last driver to remain in the event is deemed the winner, so expect an intense battle if you desire that victory.
Bags of cash have been dropped all over the map and it’s up to you to grab as many of them as possible. Checkpoints are divided into tiers – Bronze is worth $100, Silver nets you $250 while Gold dishes out $500. Bank money to save it all, or risk it to earn more. Whoever deposits the most cash by the end of the race wins, but if you don’t bank it before the timer expires – you forfeit everything.
It’s back. The beloved figure eight-circuit from Liberty City that will undoubtedly be synonymous to fans of classic GTA multiplayer action. Featuring the chaotic intersection, the classic weapon pickups and of course, the ability to play on it across all our aforementioned Race modes. Although this doesn’t include the entire GTA IV map, the few blocks that form Star Junction are here, and it has even undergone some much needed maintenance.
Ensuring you have the best ride is essential to crossing the chequered flag before the rest. With 800+ vehicles to drive, the possibilities are endless. Each Property consists of a Garage. Retrieve cars from your saved list of Personal Vehicles and transfer those from other Properties. Sit inside the vehicle to either customize it or ignite the engine to reposition the car anywhere inside the Garage.
